Our Team.
Our team consists of Texas State University student designers, models, stylists, makeup artists & hairstylists, and photographers. Together we all create a visually striking and cohesive collection that merges sustainability and fashion. Each member brings their unique expertise, from innovative designs to flawless styling and imagery, ensuring that every detail reflects the essence of modern fashion. Through this collaborative effort, we aim to inspire, elevate trends, and engage with both the university and san marcos community into the fashion industry with a fresh, dynamic approach.
Available Positions
This Semester the FMA Fashion Show will have 7 positions: Designer, Model, Stylist, Photographer, Videographer, Makeup Artist, and Hairstylist.

Designer Bryce Fields for WHAT

As a designer for the FMA Fashion Show, you will be responsible for creating and designing outfits that adhere to Texas State University’s guidelines. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your collection to a large audience, ensuring exposure for your brand and/or name.

Garments: Prepare 4-6 complete looks for the show. FMA represents Texas State university, therefore your designs must remain "appropriate."

Deadlines: You will have the entire semester to work on your collection, with the final garments due a week before the show date. This timeline allows for any necessary adjustments before the event.

Model selection: during the first model meeting, designers will have the opportunity to choose their models on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Optional photoshoot: Designers will be offered the chance to participate in a photoshoot before the show. This photoshoot is optional, so if you prefer not to have one, that is entirely up to you.

Designer Fee: The fee helps cover the costs associated with organizing and producing the event, including venue rental, production expenses, and professional services.

In addition, you'll receive high-quality photos and footage of your designs, perfect for building your portfolio and gaining professional visibility.​​​​
As a model for the FMA Fashion Show, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure, build your portfolio, and showcase your talent in front of a large, diverse audience.

Mandatory model meetings will take place on specific Fridays in the evening at the Rec Center. If you miss more than two meetings, you will not be eligible to participate in the show.

Guest Speaker: We collaborate with models from Models of Texas, who offer valuable feedback, advice, and suggestions on your runway walk and working in the modeling industry. This is a great opportunity to learn directly from professionals and refine your skills.

Modeling fee: There will be a modeling fee to participate. Given the large audience and professional exposure, this fee helps support the event and ensures you receive high-quality footage and photos for your portfolio.

Availability: You must be available for filming days, including the duration of the photoshoot and the day of the fashion show itself.

In additional, you'll be part of a creative and collaborative experience, working alongside talented professionals like designers, stylists, MAU's, and photographers.

As a volunteer photographer or videographer for the FMA Fashion Show, you’ll have the opportunity to build your portfolio by capturing high-quality images during photoshoots, styling sessions, and the show itself, all while gaining exposure in the fashion industry. Receiving the experience and new connections working alongside designers, models, stylists, and retailers.

Equipment: As a photographer or videographer, you're responsible for providing your own photography equipment. Includes: camera, film, lenses, lighting, and any other necessary gear for shooting.

Availability: You must be available on filming days, including the entire duration of the photoshoot and the show day itself.

Volunteer Position: This is a volunteer position, intended for portfolio development. This is not a paid opportunity, but it provides valuable exposure, connections, and hands-on experience in the fashion industry.

Fall 2024 models with Guest Speakers: MOT models

As a stylist for the FMA Fashion Show, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience styling models while building your professional portfolio by collaborating with a local retailer.

FMA collaborates with local retailers such as Old Soul Exchange, Pitaya, Rhinestone Cowboy, and others, allowing us to showcase their products in the fashion show. Stylists will select pieces from these retailers to incorporate into the designs, highlighting their offerings alongside your creations.

Styling Sessions: You must be available to attend the styling session, where you'll work closely with the models to create the looks for the show.

Stylist Fee: There will be a styling fee to participate. This fee helps cover production costs, including the venue and decorations. In return, you’ll receive high-quality photos of your styled looks, offering valuable exposure for your portfolio.
The large and diverse audience at the show also provides great visibility and creating new connections.​ This is a chance to showcase your creativity and styling skills while contributing to a major event that highlights fashion talent.

As a Makeup Artist or Hairstylist for the FMA Fashion Show, you’ll have the opportunity to build your portfolio and gain valuable exposure in the fashion industry. You’ll collaborate and connect with designers, models, and stylists, all while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Makeup and Hair Requirements: Not every designer or retailer may require special makeup or hairstyles for their models, so your tasks will vary depending on the specific needs of each designer.

Availability: You must be available on filming days as well as the day of the fashion show itself to ensure all makeup and styling is completed on time.

Volunteer Position: This is a volunteer position intended to provide portfolio-building opportunities. This is not a paid position, but it offers valuable exposure and hands-on experience in the fashion industry.
